Andreas Economides is the lead singer, songwriter and guitarist of the band Waterblack. He was born on the 3^rd August 1977 in Bath, England. His first steps in music were as a drummer, performing for the school and later on for the band Waterblack, formed 1996 with Chris Charalambides. At fifteen, he began teaching himself to play guitar which progressed into writing his own songs and developing as a vocalist.

In 2006 Andreas recorded a collection of his songs which formed Waterblack’s first album called Orem. The award winning album has been sold and has received airplay in the UK, USA, Australia, Greece and Cyprus.

In 2008, Andreas wrote the song Rescue Me with Chris Charalambides which featured in the Cyprus Final for the Eurovision and was performed by Myrto Meletiou. In 2010, Andreas will be performing in the Cyprus Final with his song ‘Waiting’.

Chris Charalambides was born in London on the 29^th of May 1978. He moved to Cyprus at a young age, where he quickly showed an interest and talent for music. He taught himself how to play piano, and by the age of 10, he began composing & arranging his own works.

Chris is currently the Composer/Producer/Sound Engineer at SoundScape Studios and Head Sound Engineer at The 7Seas Live Entertainment Bar in Limassol, Cyprus. He is also the keyboardist and producer of the band Waterblack, which he formed with Andreas Economides.

In 2008 Chris arranged & produced 3 out of the 10 Eurovision finalist songs. (Can’t be, Butterfly & Rescue Me). In 2009 Chris arranged & produced the winning Eurovision song ‘Firefly’ (Performed by Christina Metaxas, Written by Nikolas Metaxas). He was also one of the backing vocalists in Moscow.

Chris is currently composing & producing music for Television, Radio, Film companies in Cyprus, Greece, UK & Australia.

His recording & production credits include: Nikolas Metaxas, Waterblack, Myrto Meletiou, Christina Metaxa, Tony Jacobs, Peter Martin, Deep Iris, Savvas Isovitis, John Wu, Half Platinum and many more.
